A pair of New York firemen set up a fake 'Gay Marriage' because Larry (James) a widower with two children has messed up his pension beneficiary details, and Chuck (Sandler) owes him a massive debt due to Larry saving his life. They set up home together when they are told that there will be a surprise inspection, but also face problems of homophobia and Chuck has problems suppressing his former womanising ways when he begins to fall for Alex (Biel), their lawyer.

A comedy that could have been a more biting satire on postive discrimination, but opts for a safer set of homophobic characters and some funny and not so funny situations.
